broken capillaries and rosacea:
When one of the thousands of tiny, delicate veins under the surface of our skin is damaged, the result is telangiectasia rosacea, or broken capillaries. Campbell-Spots: Coils of abnormal blood vessels that come through the skin very close to the surface hence their bright red colour. They become more common and larger as you get older. Milia: Small, white (or sometimes pale yellow) spots that usually appear around the eyes, on the cheeks and on the eyelids. Keratosis: Keratosis occurs due to a buildup of keratin that forms a plug and blocks the hair follicle which results in skin that feels rough or spiky as though it has permanent goose bumps. |
